What can you do to improve your chances of Compliance

What you can do to Improve your chance of Compliance

So you are intending to Sell or Lease your property and a Swimming Pool Inspector is scheduled to visit your property.

Prior to the arrival of the inspector there are a number of things that you can do to improve your chances of Compliance.

  1. Ensure that any windows overlooking the pool have limited openings.
  2. Ensure that the pool gate is outward opening.   If not, then this is an immediate failure to comply.
  3. Ensure that the pool gate is capable of self-closing and self-latching -clearly if not correct, the swimming pool is exposed.
  4. Ensure that the pool gate does not bind on any object or ground in the arc of the swing of the gate.
  5. Ensure that the pool latch is installed to the correct height for either a metal or glass gate.
  6. Ensure that all objects are removed from the Non Climbable Zones of the pool barriers.- objects commonly seen are pot plants, chairs and tables and overgrown vegetation
  7. Ensure that all objects are removed from the Non Climbable Zones of the pool barriers and boundary fences to the inside.

If you check and resolve these simple common areas of concern you will find your chances of compliance are much improved.

Other fundamental problems will be identified by the Inspector and these types of issues are best resolved after you have received professional advice. It is very easy to rectify an issue incorrectly by jumping to a conclusion whereas with the right advice your Inspector will save you wasted time and money so you can resolve the right way.
